How to find an apartment in Delhi?

Finding an apartment for rent in Delhi is definitely not a piece of cake. Lets come to affordability first. It depends, what is your definition of affordability. That would differ from person to person. Property rates in Delhi have broken the roof in the recent years.

When it comes to affordability, yes there are localities and areas where you can get 1 RK for rent at as low as 5K. Precisely, locality really matters a lot for rents in Delhi.

Let me assume, you are a working person and have to travel to work each day as usual. So, say you select a locality for it’s affordability, but there are factors that later adds up.

Say for instance, the travel time to work place is a significant chunk of your day. And, if you look at the bigger picture, you can use that time for something important, maybe extra earnings.

Again there are several perks of living at a good locality.

Connectivity: A good locality normally has great connectivity options. There are bus stops, auto stands and metro stations nearby in most cases.

Safety: Safety is an overlooked factor in a city like Delhi. But, if you select a good locality these worries would be decreased as there are well-organized safety measures. Say decent street light at night time, community guards, police check posts or police stations nearby.

Commercial Amenities: Commercial amenities are very important to make sure, you enjoy comfortable stay at a place. A well structured locality has all the commercial amenities necessary for a normal person or family.

Social Amenities: A well planned social infrastructure is a must for a smooth, healthy and happy life. It is necessary to make sure that the locality you choose should have all the social amenities like hospitals, schools etc. nearby.

Finding a flat for rent in Delhi the conventional way

Search Online: There are property portals, indeed the marriage between real estate and technology has been a sweet one in India so far. So, all you need to do is search for flats for rent in Delhi. But wait, the twists will show up once you make the inquiry call in a form that will b our next point.

Brokers: You would be lucky, if the calls land in a genuine homeowner’s number but mostly that  would land in brokers’ numbers. Property dealing or consultancy in Delhi is a lucrative business. Brokerage is a must if you want to rent a room through them. They are middle-men who connect tenants with homeowners. But, often unreliable, you can’t be sure about getting what you are promised.

Keep searching for to-let signs in front of homes: This one is reliable but practically tiresome and daunting task. Searching for a flat for rent in Delhi from to-let signs would definitely be time consuming.

Try rental services online: Real estate rental service is new and it’s here to stay. You can find flat for rent in Delhi without much effort. There are few room rent provider services in Delhi that offer this service. Many such companies provide room for rent without any brokerage. Again, categorically speaking, it is an evolving sector with many variations like:

Fully furnished rooms for rent: These rooms for rent are the best if you want to try live a minimalistic life without much burden of possessions. These types of flats for rent in Delhi are furnished with all amenities like refrigerator, washing machines, wardrobes, beds etc. The rooms are ready to live. The kitchen is equipped with necessary kitchen utensils.

Unfurnished homes for rent: Most such service providers also offer unfurnished variations of such rooms.

Benefits of Using Online Rental Service Providers
These sites provide a standard experience of room search, comparison for price, comparison of localities and many other parameters in a seamless and transparent manner.

So, give online rental service providers a try, the next time you are looking for a room for rent.

How to Rent Out Your Property Like a Smart Landlord

Owning a house is not the end of all the problems. Again if you are among those privileged people who has a house to rent out, it can be downright stressful. The house has to be well-maintained and all issues that keep coming has to be taken well care of. Many people often can’t decide whether to rent out their property or not. A monthly earning potential out from an investment is thus lost.

If you already rent out your home or thinking about renting out property online, then this is the best guide you can find online, so look no further.

Problems Faced by Homeowners
Many people might think that a homeowner has a fixed monthly income by renting out the home. Yes, there is earning but not without troubles. Here are few problems that most Indian homeowners face.

Finding the right tenant: In a huge country like India, finding tenants in cities like Gurgaon or Noida is easy, but finding the right tenant is not. If you list house online then you can find tenants but cannot guarantee that the right people are staying at your house.

Brokers and Middle-man charges: There is no lack of brokers, but it is not an easy decision to pay them hefty amount just for connecting you with the tenant. Brokers take upto 1 month charges

Police Verification and Legal Agreements: This part is hated by most homeowners. Verification of tenants has been made mandatory by the Governments as there are many security issues. You can’t let a stranger live in your property. Again the process of police verification of tenants and making legal agreement is time consuming and there are also monetary expenses involved in it.

House Maintenance and Inspection: A house needs timely servicing and preventive maintenance. People feel bothered and can’t manage time to take care of all these. Again there are additional cost for these. Moreover there are service related issues that tenants don’t want to take care of. Inspection of property is important but it’s time consuming.

Inspection is not possible for landlords who lives abroad or away from the property location.
Rent Collection and Bills: Calling the tenants monthly for rent and payment of bills like electricity, water etc. can be frustrating. If they pay in cash, there is again a waiting time and collection time and effort involved.

Renovation and Repair: Past tenants often make the house a mess and the house needs proper cleaning, repair renovation etc. to make the house rentable again.

So, these are just the few problems a property owner has to face. This can be stressful and make house renting a risky and hazardous income path. Many people don’t rent out their homes because of these issues. Property investment is a good idea but these problems make it seem like the opposite. Making the decision whether or not to rent out your property can be confusing.

Your Survival Guide to Getting a Tattoo in Summer

Summer is not exactly the best time of the year, especially when it comes to getting a tattoo. A tattoo is made up of colour pigment. UV rays of the sun can make these pigments to fade. So, in case if you are planning to get a tattoo done, this survival guide is for you.

  • Keep the tattoo covered when it is fresh. Don’t expose the tattoo to sunlight. Try to stay in a non-humid condition. If the tattoo artist cover it up with a plastic band, remove it as soon as you reach home. Instead use light sterilized bandages.
  • Keep it infection free by washing your hands every time, before and after touching the tattoo.
  • Make sure that nothing rubs against the tattoo. For example, you should not wear socks, if the tattoo is in your ankle.
  • Wash your tattoo gently with an extra mild soap. Ask the tattoo artist for suggestions. Don’t expose it to running water, instead, splash water onto the tattoo. Use anti-bacterial lotion to keep it infection free.
  • Keep the tattoo moisturized. Ask for tattoo balm recommendation to the tattoo artist.
  • Avoid direct contact with sunlight during the first few days. Apply SPF 30 or higher sunscreen lotion generously, if you have to go outside. Follow this rule for at least 1 month to get a perfect tattoo.
  • Stay out of pools, bathtub, spas or sea water to avoid damaging your tattoo. Don’t get soaked in water and avoid showers directly on the tattooed area.

I Bet You Didn’t Know About these Wednesday Facts

I hate Wednesdays! This day that has a bad reputation as the most pointless day of the week. Many people even call it small Saturdays, the reason is obvious. Also known as Hump day (because it’s in the middle of the week with downhill towards the weekend), here are few facts about Wednesday, that you help you to survive through the day.

1. Wednesday is named after Woden, the most important God in the German pantheon, often identified with the Norse God Odin. Again the Roman God Mercury is associated with Odin and Woden.

2. Survey says that bosses are more acceptable on Wednesdays. Are you anticipating a leave request? Well, thank me later.

3.  Bad news ladies; women look oldest at 3.30pm on Wednesdays. That’s what a research says. Set mirror check at 3:30 sharp. Salon visit or not, you decide.

4. Wednesday is, statistically, the best night for dating (ahem). Wanna hangout at some pubs near you?

Last but not the least! If you are reading this, it means you have made it till the middle of the week and you can certainly make it to the weekend! Meanwhile I will try to like Wednesday.

Happy Wednesday!

5 Skin Care tips to beat the Indian Heat

It’s not full-fledged summer yet. April 14, people say its spring but I don’t really believe. At least in this part of the country, the temperature rose to 41o Celsius. And this is not going to slow down any time soon. The sad part is you can’t just stay inside temperature controlled rooms all the time.

Apart from peace of mind skin is the worst affected part of your body during summer. Here are the things you need to do to keep your skin from getting hit by the ruthless summer season.

  • Avoid Artificial Soft Drinks: I cannot stress this more. Don’t fall for advertisements and avoid aerated drinks. These drinks contain excessive sugar and you don’t really have to get diabetes trying to gratify your thirst. They also contain phosphoric acid, artificial sweeteners, caffeine, extra fructose and almost no nutritional value. Soda drinks and cold drinks on the other hand induce dehydration.

  • Hydrate Naturally: Nature has the answer to your worries. Drink plenty of water. Help yourself with a glass of lemonade or grab a coconut. Drink grape fruit juice and experiment with a variety of natural fruit juice.

  • Use Sunscreen Lotion:  Apply sunscreen lotion 20 minutes before you go out. Reapply after few hours. Moisturizer with sunscreen can be the answer if your skin is dry.

  • Lips: Dryness can both be uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Keep your lips moisturized with lip balm SPF

  • Exfoliate and Healing: Exfoliate your skin 1-2 times a week if your skin is dry and 2-3 times a week if your skin is oily. Sunlight and the rough weather tend to suck the life off your skin. Use skincare products with antioxidants.

And if you want professional care you can find deals from Salons in Delhi here. To keep yourself internally healthy eat healthy. Up next, learn about a healthy diet plan for the summer. Till then stay safe.
